Default ZMax fuel and oil additive. Does it really help?

So I see this stuff everywhere now. I just picked some oil and fuel additive for my JK. Does anyone use it and has it helped with fuel economy? Not sure if the stuff will work on newer Jeeps, maybe on older ones with higher mileage.

I plan on getting a Hypertech because it supposedly improves gas mileage by 1-2 mpg. Every little bit helps!

Thanks,
E

If additives worked they would be standard equipment or added at the factory - my opinion.

As to the Hypertech - I'm not knocking the product but, if you haven't, read some threads comparing the Hypertech and Superchips before you buy. Lots of good information out there (in here) about both. Once you buy it, it's yours so try to get exactly what you want on your first go around.

Is SuperChips the superior product? I hear some people are having issues with them. I guess I will be the Guinea Pig with the XMax stuff. I am sure it helps keep carbon collecting on the valves over time.

Z max oil additive acts as a micro lube. I don't know if it really works but I did use some on my 2000 intrepid, and it now has around 330000km on it. The car still purrrrrs like a kitten, but I also do regular oil changes every 4000km.
