Default Zone vs Teraflex..and why?

I have to go with a spring lift. I have 1.75" puck in front (on stock springs) to level out my front end. I am running a Smitty SRC Bumper and Winch and it sagged the front alot. In fact, the 1.75" puck could actually go to a 2" puck to level it out completely...this is why I have to go with a spring kit...don't want to stack pucks.

Okay...

Zone 3" kit: $439.99
Springs
Rear extended sway bar link
rear track bar bracket
Brake line relocation brackets
shocks
bump stop extensions

Teraflex 2.5” Lift Kit with shock adapters: $482.99
Spring
Rear extended sway bar link
rear track bar bracket
shock extensions
bump stop extensions

I wheel in SW Florida, so I really don't need alot of flex as there isn't much to drive over. What I do need is a little height as we have alot of water. I plan on running stock Rubi Tires (32") for now and will probably only go up to a 33" tire when I do upgrade. The upgrade will be awhile as these tires have alot of life left in them. I have an auto with 3.73 so I doubt I will go with 35" tires as I don't want to change gearing at this time.

If I asked "would I be happy with the Zone" would be a matter of opinion. What I want to know, is compare the Zone springs with the Teraflex springs / good, bad, ugly..so on. The Zone comes with shocks at the price point I want to stay at. With the Teraflex I will have to add shocks at a later time.

I know RC makes a kit in the price range..actually less than $400, but I hear all the stories about RC springs being crap.

Anyway.....discuss.....

Thanks!
Nathan

I am about to pull the trigger on a 3.25 rustys lift kit. It comes with front and rear adjustable track bars. Every one on the forum that has this lift has no bad feedback. You also net close to 3.8in with that kit.

I dont know much about the zone kit.. But I do no that the teraflex is a really nice kit and alot of people have it on the site. And from some post I read the zone kit is on the cheaper side..

I would be going with teraflex but I had a rusty's kit on my xj and loved it so im sticking to what I know... But from how people talk about teraflex I would go that way even though it is a smaller lift.

Also when you get into that 4in range you will have to look in to things like control arms and drive shafts....

I have never used Zone parts before, so I cannot comment on them. But I can say that TeraFlex has great quality parts and a really good customer service department.

I don't have the 2.5 TF, I have the 4in Teraflex springs and they hold up extremely well with added weight. That's pretty much across the board with their springs . Don't know anything about Zone

Yes, I'm biased because I run Teraflex, but Zone is what you'd call an "economy" suspension. It's made by BDS, I know, but I don't care. You get what you pay for.

regarding zone, i have no experience with them and so i can't really comment on their product outside of what i can see that comes with their kit and what i have heard from others. if there is a reason i would go with teraflex over the other, it would be for the reason that they are a sponsor here, are on all the time AND, if you have any problems what so ever, i can guarantee you that they will take care of you and in a hurry. teraflex has a good reputation here but only because they have worked so hard to earn it.

Thanks eddie, JackMack and mkjeeper. FYI TeraFlex has been designing/building Jeep suspensions since 1996. We are not the new guys on the block when it comes to Jeep lifts.

I agree with JackMac Zone makes economy or entry level components per their marketing with their "Best Value in the industry" tag line.

They also make products for almost of brand of vehicle probably to achieve economies of scale.

Most of us are on a budget, so I understand the need or temptation to cut corners, but the suspension and tires on your JK are literally its foundation and not the place to save a few bucks, specially if you go off road often.

Teraflex is dedicated to Jeeps, has excellent customer service and a lot more satisfied on this forum.

Either way pick the lift that right for you!
