On another note...I've been thinking about places that we all could meet up sometime this summer. I haven't found a cool place yet, but it's always in the back of my mind while I'm traveling.
Anyone else find someplace yet? Or at least find a cool place to go wheelin' in their area?
Just wonderin'.
Yeah, I used to be on here a lot more often than I am now... losing free time with every passing day...

Anyway - just wanted to mention that I hit a construction site this weekend, and it was FUN (still have the mud on!). Don't know if it was trespassing or not, but there weren't any signs or anything, and it was a municipal project (so chances are, if they didn't want people there, they'd have posted some signage). If there's any big construction in your area (let's just say, for example, that they're building a new high school in Middletown), I'd recommend that as a decent stomp at night...

The new middletown high is prime. So is the hill behind the old one.

As far as places to meet, we are looking for a wheeling spot. Once we find the spot we can then find the food. Or a park to do a cook out.

Yeah - the new Middletown high location has a "hill" across from it (where they're stockpiling all the dirt next to what used to be the "Wetlands" near Woodrow Wilson school). That "hill" is some nice muddy fun, or so I've been told. Looks like a hill, but it's totally man-made, and I'm (hypothetically) still proudly wearing some brown war-paint (aka MUD).

Anyway, I was just up in NH Monday to get some more work done on a tattoo, and there are some pretty nice spots up there - I'm sure they're illegal, but you forget how much "open space" there is in other, better states... I'd gladly move if there was decent work to be had!

I think that finding a "meet" location will be no sweat whatsoever... it's like everyone else is saying: the wheeling spot, in-state, will be a pretty rough find... I'll keep my eyes peeled in my travels, and my wife's going to ask some of her coworkers that know the Canton area (still lots of forest and some undeveloped sections in that neck of the woods). I'll keep you all posted if I come up with anything worth mentioning.

Hope everyone's enjoying their Jeep! Da-da-da-da-da: I'm lovin' it!

mjs where are you from? I grew up in Middletown, went to Wilson and graduated from the good old MHS across town last June.

The rescue green two door I saw in there looked like he was trying to get at the power lines but just couldn't get at them, then he chickened out on the big man made hill. He feels ashamed.

I see what you mean about the Rescue Green one you saw... wink wink, nudge nudge.

This is all hypothetical:
I was born in New Britain, lived there through 7th grade, then (when the gangs were running the city) my parents moved me out into "the country" - Berlin. I went to 8th grade at McGee, then went on to Berlin High School there, and during high school, met my wife (who was a Middletown High student). So, I only know Middletown because of her. After high school, I got married, and we moved into a multifamily house in New Britain (owned by one of my family members - so nice cheap rent for newlyweds). After 3 years back in "the ghetto" (NB's really gone to hell since I was a kid), we finally saved up enough to buy a condo in Avon (rags to riches, baby!), and that's where I'm at now.

Also hypothetical:
My father-in-law was the one who showed me the new high school site - he may or may not be a member of the city's planning & zoning commission, so he knows a lot of the "open" spots. Again, this is all hypothetical, of course. While I was there, the Jeep Green Wrangler I saw was taking it easy, because it looked like he was carrying his father-in-law as a passenger, and didn't want to bang the "old man" up over all the ruts and mole hills...

That's wierd...I was just thinking the same thing clubber
The reason I haven't been on much lately is because my sisters in town from London, and I've been hanging with her mostly (while I've got the chance).
We only see each other for about a week or so once a year, if even that often.

I've got a couple of decent leads on spots to go wheeling. I'll probably check them out this weekend and if they're cool I'll fill you guys in.

I'm seein' more and more JKs in my travels.
I saw a black 4 door on RT-384 in Manchester heading twords Hartford last week. We ended up next to each other so I gave him the wave, and yeah....he waved back. It was a good Jeep moment, although I must admit, I know that Jeepers are supposed to wave to other Jeepers, but sometimes I feel really wierd waving to a dude I don't know.
I feel much more comfortable waveing to the girls.

One thing I have noticed before but never commented on is that our thread has more replies than any other in the staging area.
