Default Help

Ok, I have gone to two differrent dealerships inorder to fix a small problem. 1rst, steering dampener was shot so I bought one and replaced it myself - no problem. I went to a different dealership and I mentioned I started to have a sensor problem with my brake light coming on at random times and I mentioned the front end was vibrating in an odd manner. Brakes in the rear needed to be replaced, problem one fixed. The mechanic stated because it was lifted and had big tires it drives differently and that was the vibration I was feeeling.
I live near Boston, Ma does anyone know a mechanic that actually knows how to work on a modified 4x4 vehicle?!?! Sick of these idiots who just think in the box and won't work on after market stuff.
Sorry for the venting just need some guidance.

Here's a discussion from a few weeks ago about good offroad shops.
Also, it sounds like you may just need to straighten the steering wheel. Real easy. Even I did it. Check out the Modified FAQ.
Mine is starting to vibrate at speed, but that's 10,000 miles after the lift and tires, so it's not something you have to settle for. Good luck.

Vibration could be allot of things. Tires or maybe driveshaft pinion angle.

Give us a little detail if you wantsome help troubleshooting but there a couple of places.

Dr wheels on the cape
Baystate offroad
Elias

Are the top three I hear of consistantly. I used Dr. Wheels on the more complicated Gears and lockers. Good peeps and excellent work as I've had no issues. ScottCarp can agree as His whole system was installed at the wheels. I've heard nothing but good news and reviews with bob and Liza at Baystate if that is closer for you. Both friendly and answer any question you may have.

What do you have for a lift? does it come with adjustable control arms and track bars? Give us a little info and we can help you if you want to resolve. Also what type of tires do you run? Radial or bias?
