Default Laws

I think it would be a nice feature to have individual state laws regarding modifications and off roading stacked up here. So, start posting the laws below (With the state it comes from) and I'll work on putting together a new sticky.

How big is a 355 tire Is that a 40" tire on 17" rims? Just kidding, good idea if we can get this sticky. What I suggest is to add links to the offical rules since they do happen to change. The height rule that I pulled up is possiblly a rev. old at this point as it was posted awhile back.

Default Drivers side mirror

In MA you only are required to have a drivers side mirror. So if the doors come off you don't need to have a passenger mirror.

I've been told that the law in mass is as long as you have a rearviewing mirror, side or center of vehicle, it's legal, I've been taking the doors off for years and have never had a problem

From Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 90. Motor Vehicles and Aircraft:

Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with at least one mirror so placed and adjusted as to afford the operator a clear, reflected view of the highway to the rear and left side of the vehicle.

Someone needs to buy a bunch of newlines for the state. Maybe we could trade the guvna's curtains for some carriage returns.

Met a local guy who was just pulled over for speeding and got an additional warning for having a 2 1/2" bb. tropper told him the law changed 1 year ago and 2" total is all that is acceptable. He didn't fight him but what a jack because he obviously hasn't read the state laws.

OTHER CONNECTICUT RULES AND REGULATIONS • Restricted Colors No colors of tint are explicitly banned. • Side Mirrors Dual side mirrors are required if back window is tinted. • Certificate Requirements Manufacturers of film need to certify the film they sell in the state. Ask your dealer if they are using ceritified film. • Sticker Requirements The sticker to identify legal tinting is required between the film & glass on each tinted window.

I've never seen a sticker under any tint jobs but I've never been hassled and my celica had limo on the rear 3 windows. But I could see some of ct's finest pulling the doors off tinted rear window BS.
