TJ needs help
what's up guys? My friend's Tj is having some issues. After that mud hole in Tolland (he was the black TJ) he's been overheating. He's sure the mud is all out of the radiator, and he has gone as far as to replace the thermostat, but hasn't had any luck. He doesn't see any signs of a blown headgasket either. So, anybody have any ideas for him? Thanks.
did he blow the radiator out with an air hose? Which motor does he have? The 6's like to blow the head gaskets when they get too hot. Do a compression test of the radiator. See how much pressure is in there.
So.. .first... is the radiator clean.
Second, really diagnoss for head gasket.

Well, he found the problem...
He had blown out the radiator and ac compressor but still had no luck. He replaced the thermostat and still had nothing.
He finally removed the entire cooling system, and found the water pump's propellors were just spinning freely on the shaft...
So, he replaced the water pump and now all is well.
Thanks for the help Tex and Chopper!
