Welcome aboard!

As far as when to show up, I plan on getting there about 10:45 - 11 AM... I would prefer that everyone shoot for a little earlier than 11, and then be "late" and still make it by 11, than plan to show up at 11, hit traffic or whatever, and then show up after we all leave at 11:30... make sense? Leave some extra time is what I'm saying.

Not sure if it interests you, but I know a cool way up to Tolland (MA) from Farmington (all "scenic," and includes some dirt roads), and Chopper is going to meet me at Farmington High School at 9:30 - 9:45 to drive up together... you're welcome to join us for that, too.

I'm getting psyched for tomorrow - haven't been off-road in a while now, and I've definitely got the itch!

Red Rubi:

Yes - you're right on! Going down Route 4 from I84, it's a right-hand turn at the 2nd (or is it 3rd?) traffic light after you pass a Valero gas station on your left... can't miss it if you're looking for it - there's also assorting Farmington municipal stuff in the complex with the high school. If you'd like to meet up there, please try to get there for 9:30 - I've asked Chopper to do the same. That should leave us plenty of time to make the ride up, and there's a gas station close by in case anyone needs to fill up for the run.

Everyone:

My wife just went shopping, and there was a 2-for-1 sale on brownies, so we're bringing brownies for everyone tomorrow!

That's where I thought it was, but wasn't 100%. I'll see you there around 9:30.

Default Weather?

I hate to put a damper on things, but what do folks think about Saturday's weather?
It looks like Springfield area won't be so bad, but getting there from the East coast could be tricky, with high winds.
I may need to make a last minute decision in the AM...

I'm kind of confused what you're so worried about... I mean, it's not like the winds are going to be tropical storm strong or anything! From what I've seen, it looks like winds in CT tomorrow AM will only be around 10-15 MPH, and while I do see some warnings about the remnants of storm Noel, it looks like the actual beachfront areas will get the worst of it.

Now, I've met you and know that you're not a wimp, and I understand that you have little ones and don't want to endanger them... so I'll understand if you can't make it, but I'll be disappointed, of course.

As for me, I will be there no matter what - I've been looking forward to this for too long to let a little weather ruin things... after all, it's a JEEP - it can make it through a lot worse than some gusty wind!

You're abstotutely right, but they're talking 10-40 mph over this way, and that's not too fun on the highway. Maybe I'll bring the BMW - that's got a lower COG to keep me from getting blown off I90

I'll get the 10-13 by 8:30 and update you with our 10-20.
