Default Vermont Vacation

Hello All, I'm going to be in Burlington VT the third week of August. I would like to include an off road ride while there. Any Jeepers who can help me? Thanks, mjg

You should probably be looking for Class 4 roads at:
AOT-Mapping: Town Highway Maps

or pick up a Delorme for Vermont. I'd be surprised if someone is just going to tell you where their favorite trails are.

A word of caution - nearly all of these maps are pre-Irene. The Class 4 roads in the town that I know best (in mid VT - well south of your destination) are marked on the map as impassable "--u--" on the maps. Pre-Irene some of these were driveable in a Wrangler. From recent hiking experience - offroad trails that could be driven are now impassable . Burlington area may be better off as it was not as badly hit. My best advice (which sadly doesn't amount to much) would be to sweet talk a local into guiding you. Good luck, and have a great vacation!

Default Trails in VT

Good luck with that I'm from north of Burlington and trails are few and far between plus the liberal tree huggers throw a fit if you pass to close to a hippy commune.

not really.. you can find some trails they're usually through private land. I will PM you with a local group that I know of but for the life of me can't think of the name right now.

I will be in south Burlington this weekend. I was hoping for some snow/mud wheeling. I guess I should leave the Jk home and take the accord
