Default Almost got it...

New Jeep owner in Baghdad (contractor non DOD), heading home to TX for R&R and picking up my new JK when I get off the plane. Can't wait to drive her hard and then put her away wet for another few months til I'm done..

Post Ministry of Truth

Congrats on coming Home, and a JK ! May I ask, as a non DOD contractor who sees what is, rather than what is wished, are we being told the truth about the readiness of the Iraqis to take over their own management?

OK...as a new forum member I did not realize that I needed to subscribe to the thread to see any responses...this is the point where you roll eyes and mumble dumb ass.... so to your question...in a word...No. I work in Baghdad in the Washington DC of Iraq and work hand in hand with the Iraqi AF and Army daily. It isn't pretty. And it isn't from a can they secure the country pov either. It's from a can they sustain themselves pov. Logistically they are incredibly inept. All chiefs and no Indians. The NCAA would call it "lack of institutional control"
