Finally!.....my first JEEP!!
Hi all,
From South Central Kentucky here...
I've wanted a Jeep for long time, but just wasn't able to justify one as "practical" because of the room/gas mileage/etc...(insert lame excuse here)...
However, when the 4 door JK's were revealed, I knew it was only a matter of time....
Just bought my very first Jeep, a 2008 bright silver Unlimited X with a hard top, and it's great so far. It has a few dealer added Mopar accessories (added before I bought it or saw it), chrome side rails, grill, tail light guards, exhaust tip, and fuel filler door. I plan a few more minor/light mods in the new future, mostly practical things to begin with...seat cover, cargo mat, "OS" handles, Safari top, etc...but probably no major off road mods for now as it's my daily driver and I also have a commute to work. It will probably never see the "Holy Grail" (Rubicon Trail) but I do plan to get out to some OHV areas nearby this Spring and Summer and hit some primary trails to get a feel for it, maybe do some camping and hiking in more remote areas, etc..
I must say how grateful I am to all of you here for the TONS of information you have all shared here already. So many things many of us "newbies" or "rookies" to Jeeps in general and especially the JK would have had to learn the "hard way". Hopefully I will be able to contribute one day as well as I learn and enjoy my Jeep. I look forward to being part of this community
