Default First wrangler, looking to learn and have fun

Hey just joined, thought I'd introduce myself. I've been reading as a guest for some time.
I recently decided to buy my first wrangler and I should've done this years ago! My wife and I already have a lifted cherokee on 30.5s and it does surprisingly well on forest service roads for campsite access but this opens so many more trails up to us.

My goal for this jeep is probably about the same as most - not a daily but won't be trailered out so I'll need a fair balance of on road manner and off road capability. We camp a lot in the mountains of Colorado and look forward to tackling some of the iconic trails around the area like Imogene pass.
I'd like to be on 37s by next year but am considering a ~2.5" spring/shock setup for the time being.

Currently on toyo open country 33s and procomp wheels, stock suspension.
The smittybilt front bumper (pictured) is new and I've got a winch ready to drop in this weekend.
Next, I'm headed to the suspension section to further research lift stuff but if anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it!

Welcome. If you haven't read the stickies at the top of the modified section then check them out. 2.5", 35s, and a regear with some traction control will take you just about everywhere you could want to get to. When you start getting into 37s things get a little more entailed, but you can read up on that and decided what you're up for or not. Lots of fun memories ahead with that JK

Hey thanks! Yeah I was reading the dirt man's sticky immediately after posting this, very helpful stuff! I think I've decided my next purchase should be fenders. Id cut mine but they're just not expensive. I'm rubbing on the fenders now with very light articulation - think that's a good next move?
Anyway, thanks for the reply

Welcome! It's gonna be a fun trip to take the Jeep through the transformation... just read up first so you don't end up doing a lot of things twice!
