Default Hello from Southern IL!

What's up guys? Just bought a 2016 JKU a couple of weeks ago, and after doing a little research, I kept noticing jk-forum.com popping up with all kinds of helpful info, so here I am. I'm 40, a little fat, have a wife and a 9 year old. I've been disabled since birth, so the whole Jeeping thing is magical to say the least. I love the outdoors, and taking as many mental snap shots as possible. I've had a couple of xj's, a yj, and a wj. Gotta say, I LOVE the jku! Way too quite, and too low, but other than that , its an awesome rig. I'm wanting to get into overland camping, and need some tips on mods. I may have to run factory for a bit, but what are the first mods I need to make besides tires and lift? Please feel free to relocate my post, as I'm a virgin here and not wanting to step on any toes. Any who, love the forum, and appreciate all of the help and advice I've gotten here already. I'll post a pic of my stocker soon with a story on how I laid claim to it!

Thanks man! I love it already! I bought a factory soft top for it a week ago, and can't really decide if I want to keep it, or put the hard top back on. I was expecting the soft top to be allot easier to use, but taking it all the way down is kind of a bummer, and can't really get out the back off the jeep very well like that, so long story short, I may be selling a soft top.😊

Welcome. The soft top is a pain to get any thing in and out of the back. And it's definitely a chore to switch over. Where do you put your chair? Back seat?

I have always entered through the rear of SUV's. My wheelchair rides in the cargo area. Back when I was younger I used to drive single cab trucks . I'd lift myself up on the tailgate, pull my chair up and go into the cab through the sliding back glass. Haha got a few looks from people over that!
