Hello from Virginia Beach!
Hola everyone! My name is Dave and I have had my JKU for about a year now! I have loved every minute of it too.
My only Mods so far are doors off and top down! I am currently in the research phases of a lift and wheels.
I primarily use my jeep to go down to OBX (Outer Banks of NC) and out on the sand. I would like to get into some trail riding.
I am looking for anyone and everyone that can educate me on Jeepdom and mainly for Jeepers from Hampton Roads that can show me some good local riding area's and for wrenching help if and when I need it!
So far this has been a great forum with a wealth of knowledge and nothing but friendly people.

HI i live in Gloucester, from what I understand there is no place to ride local. I found this link https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=...h&source=embed one day it might help.
Dave,
The friends that are accompanying us to OBX in late August live in Newport News. They just purchased a JKU Freedom edition just a few days ago. I believe he is installing his lift next weekend and if I can pull it off, my wife and I may try to drive there to install her lift as well. They have had somewhere around 12 jeeps they have owned, so they are very knowledgable. I believe they are members on here, I will get with them and see if we can't put together a wheeling trip or something.

Dave.....
I'm a touch further to the south for you (chesapeake) but I've been up and down the lifts and other bolt-on's with the jeeps. If you need help wrenching just holler. Don't mistake my age for a lack of knowledge, I've done the work on a few Jk's and many more Tj's which are pretty much just simpler Jk's.
I've got most everything you could need also from the special torx to pull the throttle body, axle nut socket, slimmed down 15mm for brakes, custom made tranny fluid tools (manual trans) as well as impact tools and 21mm sockets (track bar)
Just holler.....I enjoy doing it and I'm honestly getting fairly quick at it too as to not waste much of your time.
