Hello From Western NC
Hello All, just thought I would pop in and say hello. I am new to the JK but not to the Wranglers. I live in a little town call Union Mills, Western NC.
I owned a 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport up to two weeks ago. I was sad to give it up but my kids and stuff were getting bigger and so we were running out of room.
When I started my pursuit to find something bigger nothing really impressed me till I drove the four door and I instantly fell in love with it. I love the ruggedness of the Wrangler and where I live I needed something that could handle the Rubicon trail on a daily basics. I live on top of a mountain with four miles of the roughest, steep and narrow and gravel roads around here and I go up and down at lease 6 times a day. In anothers words Jeep just needs to give me a vehicle to test drive to tell them if it is off road worthiness.
I can say in the five years that I own my TJ there were only a could of things that broke (The CD player which I never used, the control knobs for turning on and off the AC/Heat and the zippers on the soft top kept messing up because of the consent dust and dirt even though I tried to keep them clean I was losing the battle so I gave up taking the top off or the windows. Any how that is pretty much it besides general maintenance.
When I sat down with dealer and told him what I wanted he kind of chuckle and said you are person who dose not like the fluff and he said he has seen very few women walk in and know what they wanted as far as ( I say guy stuff - Like the heart of a Jeep the engine and what stuff I need to make it survive on this road) he said most women come in look at the color or fluff stuff and that's it. I find that hard to belive I know there is other women who know there stuff or their Jeep. I just knew I needed a vehicle that could last and I knew what worked on my old Jeep and what did not. Rubicon would have been nice but out of my price range plus it is a little over kill for what I needed. It took a deep search to find the one I wanted and a week later he had it for me. I did not have much choice on color and I wish Jeep had a brighter blue color then this one. Once the dust gets on it the color has more of a charcoal gray look.
So there you have the whole story on how I got here and I am sorry for it being so long.
