Default Jeep Wrangler JKU 3.8 problems

Hello guys,

I have a 2009 JKU 3.8 and I replaced camshaft position sensor since than I have a check engine light and traction control light on and the car is in limp mode, when we scanned the codes the tester showed crankshaft sensor, does any of you have an idea what could be wrong?

Thank you and have a nice day.

Regards from Slovenia

Lightbulb Cam sensor gap

A possibility is that the gap between the sensor and the timing gear is incorrect. Here is a link to a writeup I did that may help. Suggest pulling the cam sensor and look for damage to the tip from rubbing.

I pulled out the sensor and it was damaged like you said, so I bought a new one with a spacer glued to it and it is still the same thing, check engine light and traction control lights are still on.

Now I will replace the crankshaft sensor and hope that fixes it😅

Hopefully the new crank sensor and cam sensor will fix it

How many "start cycles" have you done after the repair? It seems like it takes quite a few times before the codes clear out?

It has been like this for a week now and I use it every day, so I think it had enough start cycles, and nothing changes.
