Is this a dealer only item? Have been reading posted install info, just need to make purchase. Thanks for the help.

Pretty sure the clock spring is now an extended warranty Issue. Should be them buying or maybe only for original purchasers

Good suggestion. Called dealer from where I made purchase, was told no extended warranty on clock spring. It is on me. For some reason they do stock this item!

Mine was replaced under warranty (3yr/36) wouldn't be surprised if they later extend out a recall.. hang on to your receipt.
FWIW mine was replaced when I had the steering wheel replaced under warranty, the steering wheel was peeling and looked like hell. When they went to change it the clockspring was found to be broken, or broke on disassembly, not sure which. Didn't have any electrical issues prior.
