My family just moved to SC 6 months ago from PA, and we've since become a 2 JK household. I have a 2015 Unlimited X I bought used in 2017. It's basically a Sahara w/ some special decals & detailing to honor the X Games. My wife has a 2-door JK Sport. I'm teaching my 9yo daughter, who has shown an interest, to do all of the basic maintenance on them. That's being video'd, so at some point I'll post them (I recorded the oil change mostly not to post them, but so she could review the video before we have to do it again and refresh her memory and, for example, remember not to drop the drain plug in the pan) ;-P
Anyway, I love our Jeeps, I love the community of Jeepers, I love DIY and learning more about these machines all the time, and I'm happy to find a forum devoted to it. Sadly, due to the price of parts, I really can't afford to trick out our Jeeps the way I'd like (I also have a nasty guitar habit), so these jeeps are mostly "Mall crawlers", much to my dismay. But I'll be learning how to do all of that stuff anyway from my local group in case I win the lottery some day. Wish me luck
My almost entirely stock Unlimited X. My 9yo also put those rails on almost totally by herself. I just followed behind to make sure the bolts were tight. Sorry I can't find a full shot of my wife's blue 2-door. Maybe later!
Hey! Welcome, that is pretty cool having you daughter help ya. Seems most kids, including young adults, dont have any interest in doing things themselves these days. When you wanna start modifying your jeep more make certain to come check us out in the Modified JK Tech.
