Just another new guy from VA
2 Attachment(s)
Bought a JKU over the summer for my wife and I to enjoy. She enjoyed it so much she took it as her daily driver. So what to do, I had to find a 2dr JK for myself.
Here it is stock, the day after picking it up Attachment 678010 And here it is a few weeks later after installing some Rubicon wheels w/ 33" Patagonia MT tires. I also added some JW Speaker LED headlights and amber turn signals. Attachment 678011 I have a Mopar lift on the way and have some Currie control arms and track bars to fine tune things. I plan to upgrade to larger tires (35's is what I think I want) but wanted to get the lift on to see how much room I have, and I'm on the fence about adding some MCE flat fenders. Love the look, but concerned it would look out of proportion with 35's. |
That rhino looks sharp. You'll like it with 35's and I think the MCE's will be sharp. I've got a rhino on 33's and flats as well as my 2010 with 2.5", flats, 35's- they're both great for daily drivers/ weekend warriors.

Keep that box when you're done, they sell independently for (up to) $300. I paid $50 and it's got to be the coolest piece of living room furniture I have.
And it won't fit in the back of the jeep with the rear seat folded up, I had to disassemble and reassemble at home. |

I gave my wife a heads up that there was a big crate in the garage expecting her to freak out when she got home. To my surprise she said she thought it was pretty cool that they shipped it that way. |
Welcome aboard and congratulations on your purchase! Glad to hear that you're enjoying your Jeep that much! More pics are always good.

The price for front and rear MCE's dropped to $400 so I ordered a set. I'm still going to wait until after the lift is on to install them. Lift install has been delayed due to working on my wife's JKU. Unfortunately, I have more work to do. I installed a 2" rancho suspension (2.25f/1.25r) on our '14 JKU w/ hardtop and automatic trans. Unfortunately, my wife hated the steering and the new ride height so I have to reinstall the stock springs with new shocks. She also decided she didn't like the exhaust I'd installed so that has to return to stock as well.
On a positive note, I had the opportunity to ride some trails with a couple of friends and got the JK dirty for the first time, well, a little dirty... https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jk-...1b1aab5ea3.jpg 1st time getting dirty |
Where are the MCE flares $400??? They've been on my hit list for a while.
