That looks sharp, I think it will look just right when you go 35's and the flats.

Thanks. I agree. The pics of your JK validated that was the right direction. I'm looking for 35's. I go back and forth between an AT and MT. I sold myself on going with Wildpeak AT3W's since we've had great results with them on the JKU. But then I go over to my buddy's and it's ALWAYS muddy, and I feel like I should stick with an MT. I work from home but drive it daily. I pick up my youngest son from middle school every day and I drive to church. That's about the extent of my daily driving. Otherwise, I'm driving to the woods. The Patagonias are fine and I considered buying a set while they were on sale. I've also looked at the Wildpeak MT. Many of the others that interest me approach or exceed the $300 mark and I'm not sure I can stomach that. :-)

I was in a similar boat when moving from the ko2's to a new tire. The deciding factor for me ended up being weight of the tire. The Falken MT's are nice, but they're heavy. I also considered grabber x3's, destination mt's, km3's, cooper stt maxx, cooper stt pro, and a few others. Based on the mud I anticipated seeing here in TN, I ended up with something more aggressive but at an acceptable weight point and the price wasn't bad either when I managed to catch them on sale. I DD it with the mud tires and beadlocks though I do have a set of factory wheels in the garage if I were to need to travel further.

Haven't been doing much wheeling lately. Did make it out to an easy but rocky trail not too far away. I also swapped on a soft top, half doors, new wheels and tires, and swapped out mopar springs for some Synergy's.

Awesome ... the only thing better than one Jeep... is one more!

Happy I could share and benefit someone. I considered the narrows but I like the more stock-like look of the stock width. Good luck! Can't want to see how your JK looks with the narrows. mx player

Finally installed MCE stock width fenders and ACE inners. I don't like them as much as I thought I would. Maybe I'll like them better once rears are installed?

The rears should be about the same width that you've got now. I'm finding out that even though YouTube says they're easy to get back into shape after you set them into a tree or drag it against a rock, that's not quite the case. I'll wait until it warms up to really put the heat gun to them and try to straighten them but for now, I preferred the way the stock ones would take a lick and just get a little scratch. I wouldn't go back to stock, but if I could find a set of Nemesis in my range, it'd be a done deal.
That being said- that's on my vehicle. I like them sitting there on yours and once you get the rears on where it'll be cut higher, maybe you'll like it a little more. |
is it the look of the flat fender you're not diggin, or something specific with the MCE? I think it looks pretty good. They look better than chopped factory flares.
Do you have both full and half doors? Those half doors look so good on the 2dr. :drooling: |
I was drooling over MCE fendered Jeeps prior to buying these. Just prior to installing the fronts, I second guessed my decision to go with full width and did consider buying narrows. Karls JK looks sooooooo good. But a drive with no fronts and understanding that the narrows would allow more slop on the front and sides, and having the full width in hand, made the decision easier. Maybe I'm less than thrilled about the hardware, or maybe that the rears aren't on so proportions look off with the factory rears. Likely it's that I'm a perfectionist and I let the little things bother me when I shouldn't. :dontknow2:
Thanks for the kind words guys. |
