Looking into a JKUR
I have found a 2012 JKUR with 121k miles. I know it's high but the price is good. There is some hail damage on the hood, cheap fix. What should I be looking for on the Jeep to ensure that its still in good condition. I don't mind putting wrench time in but want to know what I am getting into before I purchase. Any noises I should be aware of? How do I test the functionality of the lockers and the sway bar? Any little tricks that might help are always appreciated.
You should be on the dirt. Put it in 4 low and and see if the dash 4 low indicator lights up. Push the locker switch once and see if the rear locker light comes on. Push it again and see if the front locker light comes on. The locker lights will flash until it's fully locked then will be steady. (Same indicator light, just two halves). Push the sway bar disconnect switch and see if the sway bar disconnected light comes on. To disconnect the lockers and re-connect the sway bar push the buttons again. Remember that if you take it out of 4 low or turn off the engine, the lockers disconnect and the sway bar reconnects automatically.
You can probably tell by the feel when driving over some bumps that the sway bar is disconnected. There is a lot more side to side motion.
To test the lockers in action you need a situation where one tire will lose traction. Might be hard to do that where you are. Maybe someone else has some ideas.

Even though the miles are high, this is a 12. Check the history of the engine to see if it had any issues that were remedied by Jeep. You may find out that if it did and they fixed the issues that there may still be some kind of warr. on it. If so, you will be able to breathe a little easier in case of further issues with that motor
Well I decided against this car. While doing the test drive a check engine light came for cylinder 6 misfire I know that's the left bank and covered up to 150k miles but it brought home the reality that the mileage alone on this car is a huge concern.
