My wife's first JK
Hello all, so one of my wife's life long dreams is to own a Wrangler and now that our oldest has his own wheels and the whole fam can technically fit in an Unlimited she finally got one! Neither one of us has ever owned a Wrangler, I used to have a couple of Cherokees way back when, both great vehicles. Loved my '85 Cherokee Chief with Renault turbo diesel engine and my '94 2-door Cherokee sport with 4.0L HO but that was a long time ago. Back to the JKU, this is mostly a commuter "mall-crawler", we might take it out for some very light off-roading occasionally and we have a spare set of mud terrains mounted for the task, but primarily, it will be used for highway driving. We purchased it well used back in September, it already had what I'm guessing is a 3-4" lift with Bilstein shocks and oversize MT's. The front driveshaft has been replaced, and someone obviously removed the oil pan and apparently rolled new rod bearings by the dealer mechanic. We got some new BFG A/T's with ball joints and alignment and then I changed most of the fluids and filters myself. So far its been great, the only problem we've had so far was a P0404 code which appears to have been solved by replacing the EGR valve (I got an open box one for a STEAL on Amazon ($20!)). So I'm hoping to have a good exchange of information and ideas through this forum, I have some plans and ideas and would love to hear some input from people who have more experience!
Welcome! Be sure to try the search bar... see who else has had that code and what they did about it. There is a huge library of pics, and videos in the search feature that will be very helpful!
Thank you, yes I did some reading on this forum before I ordered the valve... yeah one of those bolts is a little tricky to get a wrench on alright.
Changed it about a month ago and so far CEL has stayed off so looks like all is well!

Glad that worked out for you. That was a difficult task when I did mine. And welcome to the forum!
