Long time jeep owner but just got my first JK. Now the driveway is stacked with the former DD - a mildly built YJ - and the new DD, a 2017 Rubicon Recon Edition. The previous owner built it out pretty dang well: 37" Patagonias on Fuel wheels, re-geared the axles to 4.88s, Falcon shocks, on-board air plus a Powertank in the back, dual battery set up, CB and GMRS, a sh!t ton of lights, Warn winch... its pretty impressive and he made quite an investment. I'm looking at adding a few things here and there but really, there's not much of a project here. Kinda relieved on one hand because I'm digging the fact that I can just drive this thing and enjoy all the creature comforts that the YJ doesn't have. On the other though, I love wrenching and figuring it all out. I mean, I don't really anticipate being bored because this 3.6 Pentathing is worlds different than the legendary 4L... Anyway, I'm here to learn how the JK world works and get answers to the myriad questions I'm sure to have.
really nice looking rig! for your sake, I hope you never have to remove that passenger side valve cover . I'm kinda in the same boat with my dual battery setup, but hopefully I've removed that cover enough in the past that I never have to do it again!

Yeah, I hadn’t thought about that regarding the dual batteries… we’ll see how it goes. I have been considering pulling the intake apart because I’m experiencing this weird loss of power/engine stumble above about 4100rpm. From what I’ve researched it seems the seal between upper and lower intake plenums may be the culprit. It’s a 6-spd stick so that stumble is pretty apparent.
Welcome from down the road in Marana! That is a damn nice looking Jeep, looks like the previous owner took care of it and did a very nice job with the mods. I’m sure you can find plenty to do that will give it the personal touch.
