Default The new guy from Cape Cod.

Hi All!

It's great being here and to learn new things to do with my Wrangler. I have a stock 2dr 12 Rubi and never planing on selling it for the rest of my life! I've been in the Jeep family since high school owning a 97 TJ. Since then I have owned a 00 Cherokee, 06 Grand Cherokee, 11 Rubi JK, and now the 12 Rubi JK.

What I'm interested on doing is adding a 2.5 lift and 35 tires but don't want to loose the ride on the Hwy. Its mainly a beach car and want to give it that aggressive look. It's a daily driver and commute far distances to work everyday. One, is it possible? I put a 4inch on my TJ and had to sell it because the car was burning way more gas and swaying lanes constantly. It was my baby, and was very sad when I had to sell it. So this 12 Rubi JK is like my midlife crisis bring back the TJ and don't want to mess it up with the horror stories that I hear constantly when adding different components to it. Love to here the feedback on what would be the best direction to go to give it that bad ass look that I see with the other JKs on this forum.

Welcome to the forum. I have the 4 door with a 2 1/2 inch lift on 35s big at. Rubicon Express springs and Fox 2.0 shocks. On a nice flat road, great. Potholes or bumps ,kinda stiff. Love the tires but, these 35s measure 33 1/2. If you want a better look, how about 33s with just a levelling kit. Best of both worlds.

Thanks for the insight! A leveling kit sounds good, never thought of it and need to look into it more. The basic Rubi tire are 32 and jumping to 33 isn't as dramatic. I saw someone with 35 on a stock suspension and was getting little rub on fenders. I'm guessing the bigger and higher you go the more ride you loose. It sounds like your Jeep has what I been looking at and love the stance of it. What kind of suspension do you have? Is it a full kit that covers everything? Is your jeep a daily driver and do you like the ride other than the bumps?
