New guy in Texas
Just got my 2017 JKU a week before christmas. It was unexpected I must admit. Let me briefly explain. Wife has been pressuring me to get rid of my full size tundra because I never drove it, she drove it more than me. It was just so big that it was hard to get in and out of the garage without the hassle of moving others cars out of the way. After a month of going and looking at the new jeeps i agreed that I would like to get another one. I had a 91 back in 91.. It was fun and awesome, but being a teenager and a very poorly designed clutch it stayed broke a lot. Back to my story, a few days before a cross country road trip we decided to go check out the Jeep dealership. The lady at the dealership said what will it take, blah, blah , blah.. So I threw out an extremely high number on my tundra. Bam she came back from the bullpen with a yes.. I was dumbstruck, what was I to do?.. I had to say yes of course! They did not have the exact color for the exact model I wanted so I had to wait the weekend to get it, but I got it nonetheless. The day I picked it up it went into the garage so I could paint the calipers, wheels, and trim. Then two days later we went on a 3500 mile roadtrip. I placed some foam in the back, lots of blankets and my wife and dogs would crawl in the back and sleep for hours at a time. It was perfect. We both love it! Happy to have a Jeep again.
Photos are the day we left and the others are of us driving mountain roads in East Tennessee where I from. We drove the entire day (Christmas Day) and never say another person on the road.
Looking forward to many upgrades.. So far other than the painting the only thing I have done is LED reverse lights, Android HeadUnit and backup camera. Looking forward to talking with you guys.
