New to Jeep! Looking forward to some off-road fun.
I needed to get a new daily driver to replace an aging Sebring Coupe I use for my outside sale position that my 15 year old will get to use(the Sebring that is). The wife said she wanted a "fun" vehicle and pointed me to the JK Unlimited. I had been looking at the Durango. We saw an Anvil colored Unlimited Sport, with all the upgrades, and fell in love. Felt even better when I stood up to walk out the door when they wouldn't budge on thier price and ended walking out the door with it for $3,000 under MSRP!
I am also a private pilot, but see that my flying money will now go toward a new hobby of upgrades and time spent off the pavement!
I'll get a picture up as soon as we get a good shot of it that will do it justice!
I wanted it to look like a Jeep was suppose to, so it went immediately to the shop for a lift, tires and wheels, but needed it to be within "budget."
Got a set of black Ultra Motorsport 178 Mongoose 17x9.5 wheels, with Toyo P285/70R-17 Open Country AT II tires, and a Fabtech 3" suspention lift(coils, shocks, and the other little bits). This was just to get it looking good and to get it a step above stock for better off roading capabiltiy, but still be quiet on the road.
Just put a Trek NX soft top on order as well.
Trying to find some cheap half doors though.

Congrats and welcome! How did u decide on what mods to get as far as size of tires and lift as well as manufacturer? I understand the addiction, believe me. Just make sure u take the time to do your research on your parts and ask a lot of questions on this forum. So many knowledgable people on here that helped me out and that would be more then willing to do the same for you. Don't forget to wave and have fun!
I used to have a few sports cars back in the day. Most of them Porsche's. I'd have to say my Jeep is more fun than those so I think you definitely chose right for a fun vehicle! By far the most fun a vehicle I've ever owned and don't think I'll ever not have a wrangler now! Welcome to the forum!

This is first my daily driver, so decided on the wheel/tire match up based on that, the look, and the not overly agressiveness of the tire tread.
The lift, affordability, but done right with springs AND shocks, and the other misc. bits to make it right.
My main issue was with the stock stance being too low, and too narrow. This gets the "look" right in height and takes the tires to just ever so slightly past(maybe 1/4") the fenders..
I feel this is overall a good place to start and have a baseline to test against.
