Default New JK Rubi Owner VA/NC

Just picked up a nice 2013 Rubicon.
Had 214mi on it when I pulled it in tonight.
Lots of options...

Traded in my Procharged SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
I look forward to being a member of the group.

Congrats on the new purchase!! This Jeep might not be as fast but it can do so much more than the previous. Take the JK off road one time and you will be hooked! If you have any questions about anything this is definitely the place to be. Everyone has tons of good information!

Now that I have a few more minutes to throw some stuff together...
Yea, I agree. Way more versatile. It's just a different vehicle, with a very different purpose..

Got a new Rubicon. 250mi on it.
I took it offroading (very lightly) yesterday. I'd had it ~15hrs, and it was in the dirt/mud. I pulled up at the dealership to finish the paperwork and they were all literally lined up in the showroom in the glass -like cattle to a feed traugh- Looking @ this Jeep in awe. NOBODY could believe that I'd took it in the mud already. My thought was, it's coming back up here to be cleaned/detailed/paint treated... yada yada... I may as well test it out to make sure the diffs lock and all that good jazz right up front and let THEM clean the darn thing up. Not me. The sales guy said, Umm... do you mind running it through a carwash or spraying it off first? PFFFFTTTTT For what I paid for the darn thing, they can clean it. There's no mud on the roof/top... I was only out there for ~5min. Didn't really even get into anything too boggy or deep. Just giving it a quick trial run. (I think the mud was still wet and smelly when I parked it in the dealer's parking lot)
I'll def. be pulling the carpet out and line the tub with some type of rhyno-liner/linex. I’ll be pulling the rear seat out ASAP… no need to have it in there if I’m not going to be hauling passengers. And it provides more room for the dog.
That new Pentastar is a beast. 80HP is a BIG difference. It had no problems whatsoever with a hillclimb yesterday. My first time sitting in it, I had to drive it down off or an 8-step platform to get it down off of display. It was the keynote in the dealership, parked up top of some crazy stair/spotlight platform thing.
Unfortunately (and somewhat fortunately) we’re not in Cali & can't rock with the doors & top off all year long, so I got the remote start & auto temp control so it'll be nice and toasty on the cold mornings like yesterday.
Its the only model i've seen that actually has the engine block heater on it... (I didn't ask for it, but... it's on there)
Keyless entry... again, can't rock with the doors off all the time, so I got that too.
2013 comes with nicer/more comfy wrap around seats with a new material on them.
It has the new top of the line 730N head unit with touch nav/Bluetooth audio streaming/sat radio and all the controls on the steering wheel. The sound system has been changed to an Alpine variety. Its really bad. I’m going to buy the factory upgrade speakers for the 2010 Chally. They’re made by Boston Acoustic, are a low ohm, and don’t require an aftermarket amplifier to really make them perform. And… are only like $60 for a pair from the mfg. When I put em’ in I’ll stuff that sound bar with filler to help lower the resonance in the cavity. It sounds like garbage.
Auto dim rear view mirror
Soft top
Automatic – Same transmission that my SRT8 had.
2 coats of underbody spray -5yr coverage on anything
2 types of paint protectant -5yr coverage on anything
Interior is being treated with a Teflon treatment so ANYTHING that happens to it... is covered for 5yrs, even if I or the weather messes it up.
I think the warranty I got on it is a 5yr 75kmi. It covers EVERYTHING. Even flat tire/wheel damage from a flat (Great if you offroad and hit something in a hole like a cinder block... ask me how I know.)… 20 days of rental coverage.. yada yada. The warranty is actually a crazy good warranty. My Chrystler Extended service contract was OK on the SRT, but it was nothing compared to this thing.
Got a rate of 2.5 on my loan too! (Chartway)

-It’s @ the stealership today to get all the coatings and stuff done to it. I didn’t get the dash/vinyl treatment done on it. Hell… if that shit cracks, I’ll give it back to them and tell them to deal with it.

I’m honestly very glad I can run regular gas again, and don’t have to run synthetic oil. But… oil changes are free @ the dealer anyways.
