Newbie from Texas!
I'm new to the Jeep world, just got my first one a 2014 Sahara Unlimited in Dune. Man, these things are pricey! Had it three weeks now and loving it! Got a pretty long wish list going too! Hello everyone!
Welcome Sonlang. Be careful with your wish list, my wallet and wish list are not on speaking terms right now. If your have any questions there are a bunch of awesome people on this forum who are more than willing to help.
Also a Texan... born and bred.
If you do an upgrade, double your budget, go for twice what you can afford, and just crawl (excuse pun!) along. I rushed some upgrades, went a bit cheap and totally striped them off the jeep a few years later when I wanted to do it right. Every time something stock breaks, I replace it with an upgrade. Someone told me my U-joints were bad? I just replaced the axle shaft!
I have not found anyone in this state I can (really) trust to work on the Jeep. Just not their specialty. Dealer can handle a small rig. 4 Wheel Parts can't handle anything. I think I may have found a guy who build rock crawlers. Mostly, I get upgrades done in Colorado or Utah.
