Overheating
I have a 2017 Wrangler unlimited Sahara. The jeep was overheating so Replaced the thermostat and it seemed to fix it very temporarily. It started to overheat again and I noticed a crack in the water pump so I replaced the pump. Still over heating. I did a flush and burped the system. No more pockets of air. Still overheating. The fan comes on when the AC is on but not at normal temps. The high temp will occasionally come on when its hot but not always. I replaced the coolant temp sensor and the dual relays and it still wont come on. If i go into the Jeep computer with my app I can manually turn on the high fan but not the low. I'm at a loss.
I have seen new thermostats go bad in short periods of time... it might not hurt to pull it out and check it. Be sure you buy one from a mopar or a napa or Oreily's .... some of that china stuff the parts stores sell- give up quickly. I don't know what else it could be?
I also have a similar issue replaced the tstat with a durlast which i knew was a long shot seeing that there are 58k on back order from Mopar. Everything is working properly except im still getting a bit hot when running highway speed or pulling a hill. My thought at this point is to drill 2 1/8 inch holes in the tstat for a bypass until i can track down an actual OEM replacement. Has anyone done this before on the 3.6 i have done it on older engines.
