I understand what everyone is saying. I have worried about the towing abilities . I am selling a 99' BMW M3 . This will be a change for me. I have had my UTV for a couple of years now. My wife has a Yukon that tows just fine but , she couldn't drive my car because its a manual, which made it difficult for me to use the Yukon. I have used my fathers 4cyl nissan for towing ,but that is like a death wish. The jeep sounded like a good idea because I could tow with it,carry the family with it, and its a convertible. The only reason I considered a 2wd was because of price. I don't think I can afford what I want (look and all ) without having a crazy amount of miles on it. This is the look I wanted and the price I can possibly afford. It's 2wd

Oh man, going from the M3 to a lifted JKU is going to be quite a shock. Sluggish and loose handling won't even begin to describe it. Seriously, find a way to drive one. (Make sure it is pre-2012. The engine was upgraded to add 85 hp that year).

If you still like it after that, go for it. (I still would never consider a 2wd Jeep).

Actually, I would insist my wife learns to drive a manual. This may be a bridge too far for her. I know she is a woman and all, but c'mon.

Good luck!

Actually, she could drive a manual in a pinch, but she has never driven one on a daily basis. I taught her to drive a manual, and on the occasion she has driven it home if I could not . It just scares me to turn her loose with it. Especially with the M3. People are known on those to do a money shift. That's where you grab the wrong gear and over rev the motor and then shift money from your savings account to your checking to fix it. Not to mention how she doesn't slow down for speed bumps. I crawl over them.
I understand about driving a vehicle first. I know you can really like the way a vehicle looks , and then drive it and hate it. You never know I might drive one and then put it behind me.
Thanks for the input.

No problem. I just didn't want you to get into it and then realize it wasn't what you were after. Go drive one if you can, then you will know. I understand why you don't want the wife driving the M3. Lol.
