Time to get serious
I am the very happy owner of a thoroughly-tested stock JK. And it's time for a change. Here is my build plan:
1. Lift 2"
2. Upgrade tires to 285/75R17 Wrangler MT-Rs
3. Cold air intake (eventually Banks turbo for JK!)
4. Roof rack for hard top
5. Front bumper
6. Winch
7. Rear bumper w/spare tire mount
8. who knows
First order of business: Lift! Question is: which lift reduces roll in turns? Spacers or full spring upgrade lift kit? Dude at 4WheelParts said one thing, catalog says another...

I would think that spacers would give less articulation which translate to roll but you shouldn't be getting a lot of roll as long as your sway bar is connected.
What model jk do you have? Have you looked in your area for rubi take offs? They will give you a 1.5-2" lift. If you're only going to 285s, maybe going with flat fenders is a better option for you as it will give you plenty of room to move and keep the same drivability that you currently have.
Plenty of options and choices to make, now that you have opened that door it can never be shut. Have fun

The axel stops at the bumpstop whether it gets there via a spring or a spacer it still gets to the bump stop.
Don't get me wrong a spring is better, but its not a bad idea to start with a spacer and upgrade from there when you feel you need an upgrade.
