Using a EVO Manual Disconnect on a 2009 JK X
I am tired of the disconnects I have now ie using a rubber mallet to disconnect. It is very difficult, even on level ground. My JK is NOT a Rubicon. What do you folks think of my buying a used Rubicon Swaybar and replacing the electronic components with a EVO manual disconnect sysem?
Are there other options besides EVO? I am an older women and it needs to be easy!

If you can get a Rubi swaybar that has a broken motor for cheap, go for it. I love my EVO disconnect...I we t to it when my Rubi swaybar motor crapped out. Works great.

Is EVO the only manufacturer that makes the manual disconnect for replacement of the Rubi motor on the sway bar? Just wondering if there is any other products to compare the EVO with.

Have you looked into Currie anti-rocks or the teraflex dual rate sway bars?
Everyone I wheel with runs anti-rocks and they like them. It gives you a bit more body roll on road but does not limit flex off road. There's also no need to disconnect. It works on and off road. It might be a cheaper and easier option for you.
I have a rubi and by sway bar finally crapped out. Going to take it apart this weekend but if it's toast I'll go with the Evo disconnect system.
I think you'll be better off with anti-rocks. With the Evo kit you still need to get out and turn a knob. Plus you need to source a used broken rubi sway bar, buy the Evo kit and install everything. With the anti-rocks, all you need to do is install it and you are good to go.

I really don't want the additional "softer ride" and noticeable difference when doing freeway speeds. Don't want the additional possibility of roll over. I want the on pavement ride to feel as much like stock as possible. I am not a rock crawler. I belong to an off road club and do up to and including all of their 3.25 level runs (the softer off road adventure). I do disconnect and air down every time we go out.
