Default Sorry in advance

I’ve tried to delete the poll. I’ve tried to move this to the correct spot and sorry for yet another tire question. I’ve been stalking this forum for a few months, trying to figure out exactly what I’m doing. I’ve got a stock 2018 JK Sahara. Just ordered some 17” black rhino wheels. Getting Nitto Recongrapplers for them. I may lift it after I recover from the wheels and tires, and I may not- depends on how excited my non-Jeep liking husband gets. My debate is between 4 ply 315/70r17 and 10 ply 305/70r17 (since they don’t make it in standard load). Thinking Nittos stats on the 4p 315 are incorrect as they don’t show the weight as any less than the LT and it should be 10 lbs or so less. I really want the biggest tire I can get on it, but I don’t really want a noticeable loss of power and really don’t want to loose too much in fuel economy- I’m getting around 19 now. Anyone have any advice on which tire size to go with to negate these things? Anyone with real world stats they can share?

Welcome to JKF.. Reading your question .. causes another question.. HOW Much Off Road driving is planned? Will it be Rock Crawling or Trails? Daily Driver? According to Nitto:LT305/70R17 E 125/122R 218700 16.3 33.86 12.24 8.0-(9.0)-10.0 3640 @ 65 64.40
315/70R17 116T 218800 14.0 34.41 12.72 8.0-(9.5)-10.5 2756 @ 44 66.03 They show the 315 to be taller and tread wider.. Personally if not doing Rocks off road I would go with the 315s.. will give a better ride on the hwy. Yes you will see a decline in MPG and speedo will be off too.

Thanks 🙂. Only off road will in our field on occasion. This is my daily driver. Any idea if there will be anything that rubs if I don’t lift it?

That is a good possibility as Nitto shows 34" in diameter; Not familiar with the wheels and the backspacing .. rub probably at full lock on turns; which would be at low speed probably when parking. Also at full flex; even 35s with 2" spacer lift on ours did rub fenders at full flex in off road situation.
