Default Yet Another Newbie w/ Simple Rear Seat Question

Hello Guys,
This is Dan in Pasadena (CA). Maybe a couple of you guys know me from the Garage Journal forum.

I JUST bought a very low mileage 2017 JK 2 door. It came with the Plain Jane black 16" steelies and I immediately put stock 17" Rubicon wheels and new tires on it. It'll be my DD and will be towed behind my motorhome occasionally.

I notice the rear seat doesn't seem to fit properly. When I engage the front hooks into the hoops in the floor, the rear latches can't engage with the hoops in the rear of the floor. I'm reasonably sure I'm messing up in some simple way. But is it possible I have the wrong seat for the Jeep? Maybe one out of a four door model? Please enlighten a rookie. Pic's below.

You've got it set just a notch too far forward. That rear hook that you have pictured should go into the middle of the three latch points, roll the seat forward and it will catch the front latch point, then pull it back and it will catch the rear latch point. Hopefully this makes sense.

And welcome Dan!

Hmmm, I didn't really understand what you were referring to with mentioning the "three latch points" but I went and played with it and realized you meant both front and back latch points. What I was calling hoops.

Anyway, I figured it out AFTER I accidentally latched the rear without engaging the front. Then it was difficult to get it unlatched but I finally got it right. Thanks!

Quick FYI for others: Putting the seat in and out is a PAIN IN MY A$$.

The 'easy' way I've found is to fold it up, release it from the retaining latches, then walk it out of the back on the headrests. Once you're at the back door then you can grab it there at the hinges and carry it away.

For putting it back in, I set it on the headrest and then rock it back on to my knees until I can walk it up to the latches. Then just get the center latch hooked and roll it forward.

It's easier than a 4dr if it makes you feel any better. I think it's more difficult than the 97-02 TJ though where it just slid in on posts with a small clip.
