Default Eagle Lakes

I think it is time for some of us to explore some more trails for next year's gathering trips. It has been a looong time since I have been to Eagle Lakes and I have already forgotten the condition of the trail.

So I am looking for some people to explore Eagle Lakes with, within the next week or 2. It is right near the Signal Peak & Fordyce Trail.

Trail Rating:

Moderate

Directions:
Take highway 80 east towards Reno. Exit at Eagle Lakes road near Donner Summit. Go north under the freeway and follow the road around to the west. Turn north across the road from the Indian Springs campground. Follow the trail a short distance to the staging area.

GPS Coordinates:
Trailhead: N39° 19.895 W120° 34.363

Look like would be a week day trip BUT a possible weekend trip.

If it's a weekend run, I'd probably be able to make it.

Not sure if the Indian Spring Camp Ground still open. This can be a same day trip or stay over the night before.

I'm getting my 4.88's installed on Thursday. If I can break them in before you go, I'm in. Prerunning is great, you get to find all the good lines so when the whole group gets on trail you look like a RockGod......oops forget I said that.

(true story) Long ago I was told that the best way to break in the gears is actually to take it on to a trail. Not certain with the logic behind(but made sense) it but it was widely discussed at another forum. And in your case. You can tow it to the trail and break em in!.

So, are we going to set a date? How about Sunday the 7th? I may be able to make that day. I cannot camp the night before so it would have to be a day run for me. I am about 3 hours from the trail head.

Thumbs up

The 7th might be a possibility for me.
But I'm running on bologna skins.
I suppose if one goes- I'll be forced to get new tires.
