Default Hot August Nights

Was in Reno Saturday, and decided to check out the classic cars. Saw this old Jeep someone had restored to replicate the ones he used to drive on the naval base in Vietnam. Thought i'd share

Kinda wish I had an oldie to cruise around in. Thought about selling my Harley and getting something. Love 66 Nova, and 49 Leadsled. Love the old Mustangs too, but they're too much.

I'm not a jeep historian, but I thought military jeeps all came with 2 piece windshields for ease of field repair?

I thought the cj 3b has the tall hood which I don't see there. Also I see a rounded hood which leads me to the late 60s and early 70s. That would be a CJ5, or M38a, or M38a1.

I thought both those military versions ran split windows while the CJ5 had single glass?

M38, M = military?
CJ, C = civilian?

This is all from memory. I didn't go search this out however...

After typing this i went back and super zoomed the pic. There is a 6cyl motor under that hood. The jeep can't be anything earlier than a CJ-5/m138 sInce nothing came with a straight 6 before it. A v6 yes, but not the straight six motor.
