We turned 20K after our month long trip around the US a few months ago. The check engine light came on as we made it home, had the head replaced the following week. 90% of the miles has been camping, wheeling, and vacationing

Same story here. We drove from Missouri to Colorado last summer. That was a big chunk of miles. Other than that it's wheeling, camping and hiking.

The bad head was the only issue I've had with the Jeep.

Wow. Pretty much everyone I know with the new motor has had at least one head replaced. That's a bummer...

Hey Brad (name assumption here). Why no photos of your Crush jeep?

Oh, I'm a "Brad"' if that's your name too!

It seems like just a matter of time before a 2012 Pentastar head has to be replaced. I hope the new head design fixes all this. My JK is much smoother with the new head.

I've always wondered. V-6 motors have two heads. Did they replace both? Just one?

I think it's almost always the left (drivers) side head that goes because they had a flaw in a large batch of them. Mine is a '13 jk and no problems yet, but I think was only the early 12s having this problem.

Jeep was painted yesterday! I'll snap some pictures tomorrow AM when I go by and pick up my old hood. No one wants a black Rubicon hood? Anyone?
