$330.00 per person...... not in this economy. I would like to run it with people who know extensively about the area history but this isn't the year for me.
I plan on running it some time this year but I think I'll just go for free.

I figured you would be one of the first to respond
I tell you, it is worth it if you can afford it.
The food is awesome and the spotters & staff are just the best
You should contact PeeJ Zip, he spoke of going sometime this summer with his speedshop buddies, They are well versed on the trail and their rigs are unreal

I ran alone last year with only a book as a guide and had no problems. Not the recommended method but honestly I didn't find it to be that hard to navigate if you take your time. There are always others out there so your never "alone" for long.

I plan on doing the Rubicon again this year. If money permits I would like to give the Jamboree a try. I have heard great things about it from everyone that I have spoke with.
We went on our own last year and had the whole trail to ourselves. It was great!

A buddy and I went up after the Jamboree and had a great trip. Those guys do a wonderful job of filling in holes and smoothing the trail.
Prior to that though and it doesn't seem like the same trail

oh come on, the rubicon is a bit different every year and while a lot of it is tougher after the snow melts, it's still a ton of fun even at the end of the season as well. as far as the jamboree goes, sure they help make the run as fun as possible for everyone but i think your suggestion that it's not the same trail after the fact is a stretch. in case you missed them, there are more than one line up or down many of the obstacles and i can assure you that most go untouched by the jamboree. needless to say, if you found the rubicon to be too easy, maybe you should try taking a harder line next time.
