Random bump....

... is this trip still on? I'm suffering a bit from EJS envy, and also starting to look at my summer calendar. Definitely want to make it back out to Moab at some point.

I'd love to go, but I doubt I will have the money or have the jeep built enough by then.

It IS ON ON ON! I booked a house rental starting the night of the 13th through 18th. I got my time off approved from work, so there is almost nothing that can stop me now!

I know the EJS envy thing, I've been to Moab 4-5 times but never EJS
It's a blast anytime though.

If you've got a Rubi, you should be able to do A LOT stock in Moab. Plus, most of the easier trails are just as scenic as the harder stuff and that's one of the main reasons I love Moab...the scenery!

A bump for reminder

I'll be in Moab June 13th to 18th. It looks good for my friend in TX making it with a new Unlimited Rubicon to meet me. I'm hoping to add a couple more from the UT area or a Norcaler!

Hahaha... he said his JK would be "finished"

Just kidding -- welcome to the site. I was in SF for five years then moved south closer to work a few months ago. There's a pretty active group of us here in Nor Cal at this point, so if not Moab (which I highly recommend) I'm sure you'll be able to hook up for a run sooner or later.

What do you mean by finished?

Here's the latest scoop...(a bit complicated) My wife is driving from Sacramento to Salt Lake City leaving Friday, June 12th. I've got a conference in New Orleans to go to and I'm flying into Salt Lake to meet up with the family on Saturday the 13th. We're gonna be driving down to Moab(roughly 4 hours from Salt Lake)

My friend(owtcast) from TX is driving up and meeting us in Moab around the 13th as well. Our families have rented a house for most of the week in town.
I'm heading back toward Sacramento on June 18th.

Owtcast has never been to Moab, but a veteran wheeler with a new Rubi Unlimited that he just got this week!
I plan on doing Hell's Revenge, Elephant Hill and Golden Spike trails. If we have time, maybe Moab Rim

Chip, in an earlier post, you mentioned Kane Creek. If you like scenery and a couple of tough spots you should go on it. I just did it yesterday and someone has trimmed the brush back so it doesn't scratch the he** out of your paint. Also Metal Masher is a good one for a view. It puts you on the top of the bluffs that you pass on 191 going into town. Take your binoculars, you can see Arches Park and the La Salle mountains. Not recommended if you're skittish of heights.
