Default New to area

Hello everyone,

I recently moved to the area and wanted to introduce myself. I use to own a CJ-7 and enjoyed wheeling it in AZ. I now own a 2011 2 dr Rubicon and would enjoying meeting up with people in the area. Since I am new to the area, i would be more comfortable going out with a group then by myself. Don't want to get lost.

I would also like your option on mods that are needed for the area.

I current have a 3" lift, and a winch. I would like to stay with the stock Rubicon tires.

Do I need skid plates, etc.? If so, who do you recommend?

Thanks, for the help.

Dave

Check into the Staging Area.
The Area in which You live is sure to be there.
There a ton of West Coast Folks here, and chomping
at the bit to offer a helping hand.

Welcome Dave! We have a lot of great trails in the area. Since you have a Rubi, about all you need to get wheeling is an oil pan skid plate, differential covers and some rock rails. I run the Rancho oil pan skid, Riddler covers and Ace rock rails. Use the rock rails and diff covers a lot!

Keep an eye out in the Norcal section for runs. We are doing a 3 day Rubicon run with camping on July 9,10,11. But there will be a lot of others all summer in the Sierra.

Welcome!

There are many trails in the area for you to explore.

If you plan on stock tire size for your Rubicon, I would invest in underbody protection as your next upgrade. This would include additional protection for your gas tank and T-case in addition to some type of oil pan and front differential protection.

We just got back from a beginner Rubicon run last Saturday. Hopefully you you'll see some participants chime in with their experiences on the trail.

Would like to go, unfortunately I will be in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for work.

I have signed up for the Jeeper Jamboree at the end of July. Only problem is they are saying minimum 2 people per jeep. Since I just moved here, it is only me. Hopefully they will work around it. I have till July 1st to cancel with a full refund. So will see what happens.
