one year later....
So we have just passed the one year mark of ownership of our JKUR, and it has been a great ride. Our first outing was to the Barney Riley trail area south of Lake Tahoe. Nothing too extreme but certainly nice to get out into the wilderness. For the remainder of last year, our Jeep remain stock. Our "off-roading" consisted of some snow runs in the sierras north of truckee near highway 89. After getting stuck on one of those snow runs we got our first mod... a smittybilt bumper with an xrc10 winch. From there we added a 4inch lift, 35s, rear bumper, various skids, lights, etc. We've had just 2 issues thankfully: a broken rear locker and a leaking transfer case. Both fixed.
Our adventures have taken us to Cow Mountain, Slick Rock, Signal Peak, Hollister, Carnegie, Crystal peak, Fordyce (partial), various forestry roads outside truckee and Reno, and of course the famous Rubicon trail. We've also seen some amazing wildlife: bears, bobcat, deer, wild horses.
During that time we've met some great people who have helped us out tremendously. Looking forward to year 2 and what new adventures we can go on and who we will meet in that time.
