This is a fun family event that doesn't involve 4wd, but we usually bring jeeps if the weather is good, or bring a regular car (or jeep) and still go if it's raining.

We head up to apple hill very early and get there when they very first open (8am). Then we go to about 4 farms and hang out eating and talking. This is great for everyone, including families. We will plan a close to halloween date so the BEST apples are in - Arkansas Blacks! Of course, many other apples will be available as well including apple donuts and cider too.

The trip is scheduled for October 1, meeting at High hill ranch at 8AM. High Hill has donuts, hot chocolate and coffee drinks for breakfast.

Ambitious people can meet at starbucks in Placerville around 715ish, and then drive up.

The plan is to hit three or so ranches and then head out around noon when the crowds start showing up.

You don't need a jeep for this, but weather permitting we're bringing ours.

 

Yeah, this sounds like something my girl would like. I'll have to look it up.

 

The run is this coming Saturday!

As of now, I plan on being there. Coming up from Bay Area...so will be pushing to make it by 8:00 (may stay up that way Fri night).

We get cell reception there. A jeep is not required as this is simply a run around apple hill dinking around at some of the ranches. I will have my jeep as long as it doesn't rain (the weather looks fine).
