Default Saturday

Its my first post so thanks for all of the great ride reports...

I was curious if there was anything going on Saturday? I have had my 12 JK sport for about a month and a half, and really need to get offroad!

I have done a couple things like Frank Raines, Dodge Ridge.

I really need to get out and push myself, but I do not have anybody else to go with.

I do not have a lift yet, just 33's so I know if I disconect I will probably rub. I have also installed some sliders.

Anyway there is my introduction.. So is there anything going on not too crazy far from Modesto this Saturday that a stock JK can do? Or point me in a direction I won't regret being there by myself.

Welcome to the forum. We always have runs going on and you just missed a beginner rubicon run.

Frankly,it's better to work on your driving skills slowly.Mistakes will happen but at a slower rate.As you grow in skills, more challenges can be added.I myself have been off roading since the early '80's.

The ohv carnage is near you. Maybe 30 min. Prairie city ohv is about hour and 1/2 away. There is hollister hills ohv as well. Ohv is the safest place you can go out alone since there are people around. Make sure you have recovery points and recovery gear. If you get in trouble and have to ask for help its better to be prepared.

BKGM:

I almost asked about joining, but being at stock height I was worried about making the Rubicon. That of course is a goal of mine eventually.

Familytime:

I agree, I will definitely be going at this slow. I have never done any serious off roading so I am a newb all of the way around.

Pjohn:

Yes I was thinking about one of the OHV parks around. They just don't seem as exciting as a Sierra run (as far as scenery etc.). I do have the stock recovery points that come on the jeep, is this good enough or is there something more that I should have? The only recovery item I have so far is a strap. Should I get something else as well?

Thanks for the reply's

Strap is a good start. Ohv aren't grate for the view but they are great for improving your skill. When i get my jeep back I'm always up for something.
