sleeve tools
few years ago there was a sleeve install party in the norcal zone.. saw the video.. Anyone know who might still have those tools? Im maybe lining up to do a few myself. but theres a few spciality made tools that would make it go quicker for sure.
Rich and I just used a race bearing driver and a BFH but I'm also pretty sure my axle wasn't as beat up as yours...
I used a bearing race driver shoved into a piece of 16" galvanized pipe. Left sleeves in freezer for at least a week, for me, hammered em home with a single jack (mini sledge) and grease. All good

I'm contemplating renting an air hammer. I suspect mine are gonna go a Little hard
Your going to need an industrial size compressor with a large tank and high CFM to run an air hammer then your going to need a real good air hammer. I'm not sure the rental types are a high out put. I've done the air hammer and the sledge hammer thing. The sledge hammer worked better. Just have to watch out for fingers. It also helps to freeze the sleeves for a few days, clean the tubes out really well and of course penetrating oil on sleeves and in tubes when hammering in.

I can text chuck norris and have him punch it in quick?
But in all seriousness mine went in easily. I cleaned it out and froze them. Then a few taps with the heaviest sledge i had at the time.
