Steerig Box gone bad?
So I noticed fluid on the steering box (just above the pitman arm). It is not dripping but there is a pretty good coating in the area. Steering is a little loose but its a Jeep. I have done alignment, caster, track bar bolts are tight, etc. I have done some research and read a few threads here. Seems like the gearbox is a weak point in the JK steering system. Previous recommendations were to 1. replace the gearbox with one from PSC or AGR. OR 2. install a sector shaft bracket (I don't know what a sector shaft ishttps://www.jk-forum.com/forums/images/smilies/blush.gif). I plan on going to 35s in the spring and I'm thinking it will only get worse when I do.
Any suggestions? Anyone in the Bay Area that knows something about steering components willing to meet and take a look? I buy you a beer if the advise is good. https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/imag...lies/smile.png

Well steering box is now leaking. Jeep was parked in the garage for a week while I was out of town. Came home to a wet spot on the floor right below the steering box.
Now the question is AGR or PSC? PSC seems to be the leader but holy.... they are spendy.
Anyone have a AGR steering box? I need feedback.
Thanks

I have a factory steering box with 10k miles I'm just about to post for sale. I converted to hydro assist with the 38's I run. You don't need upgraded steering for 35's, even with off roading. A sector shaft brace is an inexpensive upgrade.
Leaking isn't too big a deal. Play is your bigger concern.

I drive mine on the highway and its safe and stable. Not a cheap upgrade however.

I ordered the AGR ram setup for my 2 door with 35's a little over a month ago. It should arrive any day. Was it very difficult to dial the ram setup ? What do you mean by zero resistance?
Your steering may also be slower depending on the ram size and the pump used. Larger rams are slower, smaller rams are faster. Factory hydro assist setups typically used a very small ram for this reason (like a 1/2 to 3/4" ram).
This is the setup I've got coming.

Hopefully, this setup will work well. Did you instal yours yourself. If so how difficult was it to setup and dial in?
