Well, it turns out it wasn't a grounding issue at the antenna. Turns out I had a bad connection on the plug on the end of the antenna wire. Once I fix that I am getting great readings.

I also came up with a great way to mount the mic for those of us with 2011's. I took out the screw in the bottom of the tray on top, which allowed me to pull the facing away from the front just a bit, then wrapped the bottom of the Cobra mic mount in a few turns of double sided carpet tape. Slid it in between the facing and dash, pressed it down and reinstalled the screw. No bracket needed.

Definitely. I can firmly say that I'm better with electronics/wiring than anything else jeep related. Cb install is super easy.

You know you own a Jeep when you post something you can do and you get atleast 5 people reply that want it installed, to help install or to watch it installed so they can later install.

I know because I have a fellow Jeep'er that is one install behind me all the way!

Lefty, glad you worked out the issue. And wow you've started a work party detail to boot. Cool Wish this was done when I had so much work to do on my rig, but I do have a buddy who trades off mod help which makes things go faster and more pleasant. Good to see you and everyone on Saturday.

I picked up a SWR meter this weekend as I was out and about and came across one. Hooked up my CB, got a 1.1SWR reading on Channel 20. But, I have nobody to test it with!

But I would still be down for a CB party; so I can test it out. Plus help others!
