Anyone up for Newbie-Jeepin in Tahuya on Sat 4/24?
I just found out that I'll be stuck in Belfair all day this Saturday. Should be a perfect opportunity to finally get off-road and spend some time in Tahuya. Is anyone free for a run that day?
My jeep is a stock X unlimited with the locker/disco option, Teraflex leveling kit, and 32" Duratracs. It is probably not suitable for anything too crazy, but it is enough for most of Tahuya.

Never been.... I was hoping to find someone who had been trough the 4x4 loop to lead the way. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. Worst case, I'll throw the mountain bike in back and go run Howell Loop.
Well, I had a bit of fun, but it would have been beter following someone who knew where they were going. I hung out at the trailhead wating for a group to follow. An hour later the first car came by; a 90s Cherokee with a 5 or 6 inch lift and 33s. I asked if they would mind me following them, they said sure, but were not sure where they were going. I followed for 15 minutes until they headed up a hill (off the main route). I chose not to follow.
Not sure where I was going or what would be around the next bend.... not a good scene. I bailed off of the 4x4 trail at the next fire road . Short run (2-3 miles at most), but I am floored at how well the jeep responds to the trail. First time off of a fire-road and I am ready for more.
Rest of the day was spent on a mountain bike through Tahuya. Covered most of the 4x4 loop and the single track in that area.
If anyone is heading out to Tahuya in the next few months let me know!

I was just up there on Apr 14. Great weather and a great place to learn how to drive if you are newer. I let my wife handle the rig for a little while. A couple of tough spots but they can be bypassed. The water crossings are not to bad on the NW side. I'm down to go later in the summer I am booked till then.
