Default Brown's Camp Saturday, Oct. 10th

I'm planning to go to Brown's Camp Saturday, Oct. 10th with a group of Jeepers from Salem. We are meeting at the Salem Costco parking lot at 07:00 and should be in Brown's camp by 8:30AM or so.

Abilities range from experienced to newbie and I would put myself in the moderate category. Sadly, I may have the most experience at Brown's Camp and get lost easily, so if anyone would like to join us, feel free and if you know the area, don't be bashful about leading.

Thanks,

-meljr

How was the trip? Until now it's been pretty dry up there. Some of the really good trails get closed once the rains come..

Here is a link to some pictures the guy who organized the run took Saturday.

You are right, it was dry and an awesome fall day. I had a little carnage (smacked the passenger side top corner of the windshield frame going under the fallen tree and tweaked my steering wheel off center climbing some high stumps). On the way home, I had a blowout on one of the trailer tires, but really, just small stuff. Only two JKs (both members of this forum), three TJs and a lone Cherokee. I'm ready to do it again and so is my dog, Dewey.

Thumbs up

Mel, Glad to hear you had fun.
Been too busy this time of year.
I'll get out in late November most likely.

Went up yesterday with the kid, was pretty wet. Tried going up firebreak five but his a spot where it just was too slick to go on. There was a stream running down it which didn't help any. The other trails we went on were fine though. Was busy on the weekend or I'd have have met you out there. Nice pics, looks like you had better weather than we did.

Conditions were ideal when we went last weekend, which was a good thing for the stock TJ that was with us. She did quite well considering it was her first time off road, but she elected to drive around the obstacle I believe you are talking about on Firebreak 5. The rest of us, did the whole trail, bypassing only the rock garden, which now has a tight squeeze on the bypass. Lots of technical fun for everyone, but not especially challenging.

My steering is a little off center now, but as soon as I can get to adjusting the track bar, I want to go back in the rain with a small group of modified vehicles and really give my MT/Rs a workout. Will stay in touch.

i just recently moved to salem looking for some fellow jk members to go wheelin with. I think this oregon mud is a bit more slimy then wyoming more forrest trails up here too. Rather than middle of nowhere wind blowing the jeep off the road wyoming.
