I might have a pair. True chains though, not the cable stuff. Let me check in the garage and post again.

Bob

Yep yep, they are still there. I've ran them on 35x12.50X15" BFG MTs before, so I know they'll fit.

would it make any differnce on the wheel difference, if they'll fit or not or is it the tire size? Kinda new to em. Only run chains on our XJ two years ago, once, for like a week in town.

They were the chain ones.

I won't know if I need them or not, but I know how they are with those things on the passes here in WA. I drove up Mt. Rainier to paradise last year with none on and they were required.

So I dunno. It iwill depend on how snoqualmie looks on Tuesday night wednesday morning ...

No rim size will be okay. I have run these on my 36X12.50X16>5" Swampers, too.

Sure. You can borrow them. If you run on them, just wash them down and hit them with a little WD40.

I stopped before North Bend yesterday, to try and put them on ... I couldn't get them on! It was too cold and windy and "blizzard" conditions to try and mess with them. Made it over the pass okay ..... now in E WA.

Thanks again!

TIRE CHAINS

Install chains on rear tires only. Tire chains may be
installed on all models except the Sahara and Rubicon.
Follow these recommendations to guard against damage
and excessive tire and chain wear:
  • Use chains on P225/75R16 tires only. P245/75R16,
    P255/75R17, P255/70R18, and LT255/75R17 tires do
    not provide adequate clearance.
  • Use SAE class “S” tire chains or traction devices only.
  • Chains must be the proper size for the vehicle, as
    recommended by the chain manufacturer.
  • Follow tire chain manufacturer’s instructions for
    mounting chains.
Does anyone have any idea why on page 313 of the Owners manual it says not to use chains on the Sahara and Rubicon? It looks like there would be ample clearance.

Spread them out fully and flat on the ground. Preferrably behind the tire. Back onto the chains. Stop at a point where the back tire is about 2 feet from the end. Then you should be able the lay the chain over the top of the tire and have the ends out toward the back. YOu may want to check how easy it is to reach the chain ends. And adjust the stopping point accordingly.

Note to all. Rubiconjack is running 35" tires. So, the chains on loan are not the lay over the tire and connect cable jobs. These are full chain units, and can bit a bit unwielding for folks unfamiliar with them.
