Clockum Run
I would be interested in leading a run into the Clockum for the day or weekend if there is enough interest. This would not be hardcore wheeling, just rocky and rough.
We could access from Wenatchee or Ellensburg.
Let me know.

I've been doing some research on the colockum area and it's a Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, Wildlife Area. That means as of July 1 vehicles will be required to display a Washington State Discover Pass to legally access the area, or suffer a $99 fine. The legislation was just signed in to law last month. It's $30 for an annual, $10 for a day pass, and you can get one free with lots of hunting and fishing permits, but those are limited area passes.
Here's the link for all the info.

I am open on the date(s). The permits have always been required on WDFW land. I have never been asked for one in the Clockum but there is always a first time.
The best 4x4 trips are the road to Quilamine Bay on the Columbia River and back. Or the Brushy Road, Brewton Road loop.

I'm pretty flex on dates, so whatever works for most others. As long as it's not a holiday weekend I can pretty much get the time off.
Are we talking about two different permits here? The discover pass I was talking about is brand new, it's not even required until July 1.

The discover pass has been around for years. It's primarliy for parking at a trailhead and heading off on a foot/bike/horse trial. Park peeps swing by and look for the discover pass on the dash. Issuing a citiation if one wasn't present. If it's all state park, then I say get one. If it's a lot of the Wenatchee forest, then no, different rules apply.
