Default Fortune Creek and Van Epps Pass Condition Report 7/8

Camped up on Fortune Creek over the weekend and then ran the trail up to Van Epps Pass.

Current conditions:

FS Road 4330 is super terrible. Probably the worst I've seen in a long time in terms of potholes.

Fortune Creek trail 4W301 is open and clear.

Van Epps Pass trail 4W302 is open and clear all the way up to Van Epps Pass. Can't get to Van Epps Mine though - the trail down there is completely snowbound. Trail is pretty easy - didn't even air down. Lots of water on the trail.

Van Epps Loop trail 4W303 looks to be snowbound still. That whole side of the basin had some serious snowpatches lingering.

The trail up to Gallagher Head Lake is snowbound at the very last steep hill-climb up into the basin. Will probably take a couple more weeks until that has melted out. (I didn't go up there - just talked to a few other Jeepers who had).

Thanks for the great report! I'm looking to head up there within the next week as well.
